Less than most people expect. All three of our Linder Health peels are designed to fit around real life, and none of them require you to hide at home.

Polite — Our gentlest option. Expect mild redness for a few hours, similar to a light flush. Most people notice slight dryness or fine flaking around days 2–4. You can wear makeup the next day and return to work immediately.

Spot(less) — Targeted at congestion and breakouts. Redness settles within a day. Light peeling typically starts around day 2 and finishes by day 5. Most clients carry on as normal throughout.

Hero — Our most active peel and the one with the most visible shedding. Expect redness and tightness for 24–48 hours, with noticeable flaking from roughly day 3 through day 6. Skin looks its best around day 7.

The short version: Polite and Spot(less) are weekend-friendly. For Hero, give yourself about a week before anything you're being photographed at.

A few things that apply to all three:

Book at least two weeks before a wedding, event, or holiday. Daily SPF is non-negotiative afterward — new skin burns easily. Don't pick or pull at flaking, as that's what causes marks. And pause retinoids and exfoliants for a week on either side.

Your first peel usually flakes less than your third. As your skin builds tolerance, we increase the intensity, so downtime can shift slightly over a series.

One Week Before the Peel:

1. Discontinue Retinol and Vitamin A: Refrain from using any topical prescriptions or products containing Retinol or Vitamin A for one week before the peel. These ingredients can increase skin sensitivity and may interfere with the treatment.

2. Avoid Hair Removal Treatments: Steer clear of waxing, electrolysis, hair removal creams, and laser hair removal treatments during the week leading up to the peel. Such procedures can cause skin irritation and may make the skin more susceptible to post-peel reactions.

3. Protect from Sun Exposure: Minimize sun exposure and avoid tanning beds to prevent skin sensitivity. Sunburned or sun-damaged skin may not be suitable for a chemical peel.

4. Delay Botox and Fillers: Refrain from receiving Botox or dermal filler injections at least one week before the peel. Combining these treatments too close to a chemical peel can increase the risk of adverse reactions.

5. Avoid Other Facial or Peel Treatments: Do not undergo any other facial or peel treatments within the week leading up to your scheduled chemical peel. This is to prevent potential skin overexfoliation or irritation.

Day of Your Peel:

1. Avoid AHA, BHA, and Benzoyl Peroxide: On the day of the peel, avoid using products containing alpha hydroxy acids (AHA), beta hydroxy acids (BHA), or benzoyl peroxide. These ingredients can exacerbate skin sensitivity during the treatment.

2. Cease Exfoliating Products: Discontinue the use of any exfoliating products that may be drying or irritating to the skin. These products can compromise the skin's barrier and lead to discomfort during the peel.

3. **Men, Avoid Shaving:** If you're a man, it's advisable to avoid shaving on the day of the peel. Shaving can cause micro-abrasions on the skin, making it more sensitive to the peel's active ingredients.

• Do not cleanse for the first 4–6 hours
• After that: Gentle cleansers, lukewarm water, fingertips only. No cloths, no brushes
• Fragrance Free moisturizer Moisture Cream as often as skin feels tight — reapply freely
• Mineral SPF 30+ once initial redness settles, reapplied through the day
• No sauna, steam, hot yoga, hot water on the face, or intense exercise for 48 hours
• No swimming

Days 3–7

• Flaking begins. Do not pick, pull, or help it along, this is the single biggest cause of dark marks and scarring
• Moisturizer and SPF
• Mineral makeup fine from day 2
• Pause all actives ingredients - Nothing exfoliating, nothing acidic until flaking has fully finished — typically day 7–10
• No waxing, threading, laser, or IPL for 2 weeks
• Avoid direct sun; wear a hat outdoors
