Naturopathic Medicine

Naturopathic Medicine is founded on the principles of prevention and optimization. All patients are recommended quarterly checkups. Not only do they help you stop health problems before they arise, they leave you healthier than ever with more manageable symptoms. A professional consultation is your first step to sustainable health that cannot be attained with medication alone. It involves a thorough health review, recommendations for further testing, and an individual treatment plan. Even if your current medication works for you, it's always possible to further optimize your health.

What are some preventative measures I can take?

  • Replace vitamins and nutrients with supplements or infusions

  • Learn how food can be medicine & what an ideal diet looks like

  • Identify sensitivities & triggers for better symptom management

  • Cope with stress and pain through acupuncture

  • Routinely assess things like vitamin D status

A Naturopathic Doctor is a healthcare practitioner. Naturopathic Doctors have 8 years of education and complete a year working internship before graduating. Naturopathic Doctors differ from your GP as they focus on natural treatments instead of pharmaceutical drugs. They are trained in assessing blood-work and pharmacology to ensure safe administration of natural therapies without drug interactions or side-effects.

Accredited naturopathic doctors maintain membership with the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors and the assocaition of their province.

Naturopathic Doctors: Dr. Jodie Tatlock, Dr. Celine Leduc, and Dr. Renee Purdy are available for appointments at EAST ND. During a consultation with one of our Naturopathic Doctors your health history will be thoroughly reviewed, and a unique individualized treatment plan will be created to address and treat your ongoing symptoms.

Being trained as generalists, they are happy to explore a variety of conditions. Dr. Tatlock and Dr. Leduc both work closely with fertility and skin health, while Dr. Purdy is particularly interested in helping those make lifestyle changes and address stress. Both Dr. Tatlock and Dr. Leduc work closely with fertility clinics to help clients conceive either naturally or to prepare them for IUI/IVF, and provide cosmetic acupuncture. While, all three Naturopathic Doctors can give access to the IV lounge for vitamin and nutrient IV therapy, available for a variety of conditions.
